The Lunar New Year

Mar's Musings on the Lunar New Year

Exciting news on Mar's Musings this week!

In this week's Mar's musings, I find myself inspired by the upcoming Lunar New Year, especially as we usher in the Year of the Wooden Dragon. This marks the official start of the year for many across Asia, particularly the Chinese community. The new moon on Friday symbolises a new start, leading us into the Lunar New Year on Saturday—a time associated with Yang male energy, prosperity, abundance, and the initiation of new projects.

I reminisce about the red packets filled with blessings and money that I received during my childhood—a tradition passed down through generations. Now, as a parent, I joyously continue this ritual with my son, passing on good wishes to the next generation. The Lunar New Year has always been a time of excitement and abundance, and I invite you to reflect on what you wish to birth into this Dragon Year.

While the official new year began in January, many feel that the energy truly aligns with the start of February or spring in March. In the chinese tradition, it's a time for cleanup, structure, and a gradual transition into the new year. To honour this moment, we're hosting a special circle on Friday at 17h Portuguese time. This sharing session is open to all women in our community, providing an opportunity to collectively embrace the energy of the Lunar New Year before diving into its potential.

It's a space for anyone seeking to tap into the potent energy of the Lunar New Year.

In the spirit of intention-setting and ushering in this new cycle, we'll also be hosting a tea ceremony on Monday the 12th in Lisbon at 19h30. It's a beautiful occasion to share a few bowls of tea, connecting with the essence of the Lunar New Year and setting our intentions for the year ahead.

As we celebrate the Year of the Dragon, I encourage you to embrace the energy, bring forth your projects, and call in the abundance that is your birthright. This is your time to structure and manifest the work and passion that will bring forth prosperity.

Wishing you a joyous Lunar New Year filled with new beginnings, abundance, and the realization of your dreams.

With love,

Mar
